Remembering Harold Smith

Remembering Harold Smith

On January 30, the West Side Rag featured a story, “Harold Smith, Longtime UWS Community Leader, Remembered As ‘A Very Selfless Person’” about a memorial held for Mr. Smith, a community leader and resident of Amsterdam Houses.

“It was standing-room only at a memorial on Friday evening for Harold Smith, a community leader and pillar of NYCHA’s Amsterdam Houses, who passed away unexpectedly on January 7. He was 70.

…Smith was a man you were glad to count as a neighbor and as a friend, one of the many oft unsung Upper West Siders who make the neighborhood—and the city—a better place for all, friends and neighbors said.”
