Season of Sharing

Season of Sharing

NYCHA’s Youth Leadership Councils (YLC) held special “Season of Sharing” events throughout December to give back to their communities during the winter holiday season. Throughout the city, the YLCs organized tree lightings and coat and toy drives; volunteered at soup kitchens; and held turkey giveaways, Christmas dinners, and Winter Wonderland parties. YLC members are young people ages 14 to 21 who plan community unity events while receiving training and mentoring to become advocates for change.
